Courtesy Pay Disclosure

Courtesy Pay Disclosure

As long as your accounts are in good standing, a debit card will be ordered for your checking account within 24 hours of opening and will arrive to your home address by mail in 7-10 business days. If your accounts are not in good standing, your checking account will be closed within 24 hours of opening.

If you do not have the funds available in your checking account to cover a transaction, the funds will automatically try to pull from your Membership savings. (This service is available immediately after opening your checking account and is free of charge). If you do not have the funds available in your Membership savings account, Courtesy Pay will attempt to pay the transaction. If you opt-out of all courtesy pay coverage and there are no funds available to transfer from your Membership Savings, all items attempting to clear your account that are greater than the available balance in your account will be returned and a non-sufficient funds fee applied.

After 60 days of account opening, if all of your UICCU accounts are in good standing and display appropriate account management, Basic Courtesy Pay will be added to your checking account. With Basic Courtesy Pay, we cover up to $1,000 for you rather than returning checks or electronic payments due to insufficient funds – which, otherwise, would have resulted in a $30 nonsufficient funds fee (NSF). A $30 Courtesy Pay fee per transaction covered still applies but you won’t have to worry about additional returned check charges at your retailer.

Fees are assessed based on ledger balance in your account rather than available balance. This means that pending transactions that may not have posted will not be considered when assessing a fee but deposits that are on hold (such as a check deposited with a hold or an authorized debit card transaction) will be included in the ledger balance.

While electronic payments (ACH withdrawals) and checks you write can be covered by Basic Courtesy Pay, ATM withdrawals and one-time debit card transactions would not be covered without opting-in to Full Courtesy Pay. If you never want to worry about your ATM withdrawals or debit transactions being refused due to insufficient funds, you can opt-in for Full Courtesy Pay coverage.

You may opt-out of Basic Courtesy Pay coverage or change your Courtesy Pay coverage at any time by logging in to your Digital Banking and selecting Secure Forms -> Overdraft Options form.
