Champaign, IL – University of Illinois Community Credit Union (UICCU) received two grants from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago (FHLBC) to support relief efforts for populations hardest-hit by COVID-19. Through the grant relief funds, UICCU has donated over $41,000 across the community since the beginning of the pandemic in March.
The COVID-19 Relief Program consisted of zero-rate advances and grants to support all its member institutions and the communities they serve as they respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Beneficiaries are small businesses, as selected by the member or associate member institution, and nonprofit organizations in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
UICCU identified the following organizations as primary beneficiaries:
- $12,000 United Way Covid Relief Fund
- $5,500 Urbana Neighborhood Connection Center
- $5,500 Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club
- $5,000 Habitat for Humanity of Champaign Country
- $5,000 Restoration Urban Ministries
- $3,000 Illinois Cares
- $3,000 Helping Businesses Bounce Back Giveaway
- $1,000 to CU Better Together
- $1,000 to CU at Home
