New Horizon Credit Union Merges with U of I Community Credit Union

Champaign, IL – At a special membership meeting held on February 5, 2022, the members of New Horizon Credit Union (NHCU) in Danville, Illinois, voted to merge with the University of Illinois Community Credit Union (UICCU). The merger officially took place on May 1, 2022.

NHCU began serving its members in 1946. At the time of the merger, NHCU had over 1,300 members and more than $14 million in assets. UICCU has more than $490 million in assets and serves more than 46,000 members. UICCU is maintaining the branch located at 1019 E. Fairchild Street in Danville and has incorporated NHCU staff as UICCU employees.

The merger will provide the members of NHCU continued value with access to more products and services, enhanced technology, and competitive rates, all while maintaining local service and ownership. “It’s exciting to welcome the members of New Horizon Credit Union.
